As women, our skin is changing all the time. But as moms, it’s changing by the minute. There’s pre-pregnancy skin, pregnancy skin (ouch), postpartum skin (could we be more dry?) and then mom skin (who has time?). Plus, the ever changing life skin we have to deal with as time goes on (and on and on). When we heard about Revea Skincare, we were excited.
Revea is a next-generation skincare technology company that uses proprietary hyperspectral skin imaging and smart AI formulation technology to modernize the skincare experience. They provide an individual, in-depth skin analyses and two custom formulations— an AM serum and a PM serum— made precisely for each customer’s unique biology in San Francisco, CA— which then gets delivered by subscription to your front door.
Shira Page, Angie Sheirich, Cherene Aubert, Peyton Sterns and Rebecca Fong joined me in uploading the app and committing to Revea for 2+ weeks (it takes 2-4 weeks for your skin to fully adapt to a new product). With a range of different ages and skin types between us, we each had a unique experience with a such customized product line.
“After having my second kid 2 years ago I feel like my skin has really started to show more signs of aging and that is my primary concern,” said Shira. “I LOVE skincare and am always researching what ingredients to use. This took all the confusion about different active ingredients out of the process and gave me what I needed.”
I agree, ” Having only three products made it simple! Each product had unique ingredients along with an explanation for why they mattered (Rainbow Algae Extract and Vitamin C for a more uniform complexion). I was super excited to have something formulated just for me!”
Angie also loved the custom, app-based experience, “I love trying out new skin care products. I’m also a big ‘techie’ and thought this was such a cool concept of having a customized product all from your phone. The whole process was surprisingly very quick and user friendly. This definitely makes the product stand out from the beginning.”
And from the beginning, Cherene was hooked, “The box absolutely blew my mind. The unboxing experience was luxurious and the custom booklet was a special touch. My kids could not keep their hands off the box!”
Rebecca loved it, too, “My skin took about a week to adjust to the new products. I had a little bit of purging and flaking. I have been using the products twice a day and I have loved my results. This is the most clear, smooth and bright my skin has ever been.”
And Peyton shared what excited her most about Revea, “A lot of people around me at my age are moms getting botox or other injections— I’d like to avoid those routes by relying on other skincare remedies.”

I write about all things mom and babies. As a beauty writer, I literally try out a ton of beauty products and review them for websites. My counter is full, but there are only a few products I love and recommend. Those need to be safe products that work for women (hello 40’s)— with no toxins or heavy fragrances.
What I like about the Revea Skincare System:
From the first meeting with the Revea app, I was amazed by the tech capabilities. I took a few quiet minutes and put in my info, then let the scanner do its scanning. You do need to be in good light to get the best reading, so I re-did it twice. It was amazing to see how it mapped out my face and could tell dry areas from well hydrated areas, ultimately allowing for a custom skincare routine to be built. The process took about 15 minutes. After that, there were ingredients that were recommended, some which I knew, some which I didn’t.
After about a week and a half, I got the most stunning emerald green box from Revea. They custom-made my products (three in total) in San Francisco. The box came with an AM Serum, PM Serum and a Moisturizer PLUS a scoop for the cream, a headband and hair ties. The box is living its best life as my daughter’s Barbie closet.
I really liked the simplicity of the three products in the package. It forced me to put away all of my other products and focus on this one routine. I know it takes 2-4 weeks to really see how any new skincare works for you, so I happily committed. I liked it right away. They thought of everything. First of all, the serums are in a pump form, which I love. The moisturizer came with a little scoop so I could use the exact recommended amount (a cherry size). The products felt great, very light, and are fragrance free (a win for me). I’ve been using them for about 6 weeks and have plenty of product left to get me through the 3 month mark. I appreciate the Forever Packaging as well! The containers are recyclable and BPA free, plus they work with refill pods for the serums and the moisturizer. The formulation is made in CA, dye free, made without silicone and vegan. There’s also a custom guide that comes with each package so you know exactly what you’re using, why it’s beneficial for YOU and what comes next.

I used to work in skincare and I always love to try out new products!
What did you think about the ordering process/app?
The process was super quick and easy. I did a face scan from my phone and set up my account in a few minutes. The skin quiz felt thorough but not overwhelming or too time consuming.
What did you think about the Revea unboxing?
The product arrived quickly. The unboxing and packaging experience was super luxurious. They make the product feel quality and custom. The small touches like the hair accessories and the custom printed materials were thoughtful additions.
Did your skin have to adjust to Revea?
My skin took about a week to adjust to the new products. I had a little bit of purging and flaking. I have been using the products twice a day and I have loved my results. This is the most clear, smooth and bright my skin has ever been. I do wish that the moisturizer was a bit thicker. Since they give options, I would choose one of the heavier ones next time.
What do you think about Revea’s three month subscription model?
Previous to Revea I was using another skincare subscription service. I enjoy the subscription model, it is really nice to have products arrive at your doorstep.
What do you think about the price?
The product is pricey, but it does work and feels luxurious. My skin has never looked better. But it is a bit expensive for my budget.

In general, what’s your skin like?
Before taking the Revea quiz, I would have just said my skin was dry. After taking the quiz, I have such a better understanding of my skin and its needs.
Why were you looking for a new skincare routine?
I’m in my 30s and a little over 2 years past giving birth to my last baby. I was super excited to take the personalized skin assessment and try the custom-curated formula just for me. The ordering process reminded me a lot like existing custom wellness subscriptions, like Curology or Care Of.
What did you think about the unboxing?
The box absolutely blew my mind. The unboxing experience was luxurious and the custom booklet was a special touch. My kids could not keep their hands off the box. It has a door, it has a drawer, it’s minutes of fun for a toddler.
Did Revea improve your skin?
I’ve been using Revea AM Serum and Moisturizer every day for two months. I haven’t regularly used the PM Serum, but when I do, I notice that my skin looks better and is more hydrated. When I rescanned my face with the app, I noticed notable improvements in my skin’s radiance, skin tone, and energy. I’ve received compliments on my skin, but I do feel slightly more dry. I have a suspicion that my dryness could be addressed by using the PM Serum more regularly.
What do you think about Revea’s subscription model and price?
The 3 month subscription is a good length for the amount of product. I generally find myself repurchasing my moisturizer a bit too late, meaning I need to find a stop gap between orders. I also think the price is fair for 2 serums and a moisturizer, especially given the face scanning technology and the ability to track your skin’s progress over time. I’d highly recommend it.

Why did you want to try Revea?
Typically I pick skin care creams or serums based on what I hope they can do for me. I really like the fact that with Revea I give specific information about my skin and lifestyle, and have my face scanned to get a regime that truly matches and is customized to my needs.
What did you think about the ordering and unboxing?
It was very easy to understand and execute the app. Gorgeous packaging. It feels very lux and I like the sustainability element of being able to refill the serums as needed.
What is different about Revea skincare?
I have used it for about three weeks— the thickness of the serums and moisturizers are really nice. They feel substantial yet they are also light enough to blend in with my skin and apply makeup on top.
What do you think about Revea’s price?
The pricing is great but there needs to be more to last three months. Or maybe I used it a little too generously!

How is your skin affected by the seasons?
My skin is definitely affected by the seasons. VERY dry during the winter and Oily during the summer. I have the occasional hormonal breakout but overall my skin is pretty balanced.
What is your biggest skin concern?
I’m in my early 30’s, had my daughter 2 years ago. I would say my biggest skin concern as I’m getting older is sun protection. I’ve definitely noticed some sun spots appearing.
Did you like Revea’s packaging?
My husband studied packaging and graphic design and to quote him when I opened the box, “That is the most gorgeous packaging for skincare I’ve ever seen”. From the color, to the sturdiness of the box. It even included some hair ties and a headband. The inserts were all beautiful. It really felt like you were opening up a present made just for you.
Did you use Revea skincare regularly?
I used it regularly for 1 week. I saw immediate results in the firmness of my skin and pores. After a week, my skin started feeling dry (which was likely skin purging), so I started using it every other day for 1 week to get my skin used to it.
What do you think about the three month subscription model? I do like the subscription model, it’s really easy for customers to go in and update their plans.
What do you think about Revea’s subscription model?
I love that you can ‘update’ your skin in the app and that will update the products you receive. I can’t wait for them to add a moisturizer with spf plus a night moisturizer. It’s pricey for me, but I would recommend it for the ease of use— it’s straightforward with few products to use and great results. My skin has been feeling and looking so good! I do like the subscription model, it’s really easy for customers to go in and update their plans.

How’s your skin since becoming a mom?
I feel pretty lucky that I’m not prone to outbreaks/acne. I do get really dry skin— since having kids I feel like my skin is prone to looking dull with increased wrinkles. I LOVE skincare and I loved the skin report. I was really impressed with these products. I’ve been getting constant compliments on my skin since starting and I feel like my skin is hydrated and healthier than it usually is in the winter. I also just love the routine and look forward to it twice a day.
Overall thoughts on Revea skincare?
The unboxing was so luxurious. Everything arrived quickly and I loved the added hair ties and headband to make each application feel like a spa experience. I use it religiously as instructed in the personalized booklet that came with the product. My only complaint is that there definitely wasn’t 3 months of the cream— But maybe I loved it so much I overused it. Seeing the price at checkout (all at once) it seems like a lot, but if you are trying a bunch of products constantly you are probably spending about the same amount.
