When a mom on the Bobbie Baby Formula team needed bunk beds for her two girls, she turned to Storkcraft. Known for their modern styles, excellent quality and great pricing, it was the perfect choice for a sleek looking bed that was functional, practical and safe. Here’s our Bobbie mom review of the Storkcraft Next Caribou Convertible Twin-over-Twin Bunk Bed.
Meet our Mom: Hello! My name is Shira and I’m the Medical Team Lead at Bobbie. I’m a clinician (Nurse Practitioner) by training who transitioned to medical education and sales shortly after my first daughter was born. I’m a mom of two girls, Roen (5) and Maeve (almost 3). My husband and I live in the suburbs of Boston after moving away from the city a few years ago.
Sleep and our sleep setup have always been a challenge for us. I like to say that every night is “Musical Beds”. About 6 months ago, both my kids were having trouble sleeping. This wasn’t new for us, I’ve always had bad sleepers, but now they were both screaming about being scared. We decided to give moving them into the same room a try and see if they could keep each other company.
My older daughter already had an Ikea twin bed so we just got another of the same bed and put them next to each other. This didn’t solve our sleep woes, but we liked doing bedtime for everyone all at once and the girls seemed to like sleeping in the same room. The problem was that these two beds were taking up most of their room. They were also low to the ground and constantly trapping toys underneath them (along with tissues, books, and trinkets). We decided the next logical step was to move to bunk beds.
Storkcraft Bunk Bed Review
Our Storkcraft Next Caribou Convertible Twin-over-Twin Bunk Bed arrived in two boxes. Only one of them needed two people to carry up the stairs and the other my husband was able to carry so it was pretty easy to move. The parts were all carefully packaged and nothing was damaged. They were clearly labeled and came with detailed instructions.
Storkcraft Bunk Bed Assembly
Because someone has to watch the kids, only one of us was able to focus on assembling the beds at a time, with the other coming in for the occasional two-person job. Altogether it took about 4 hrs to assemble but would have been slightly faster if we used a drill. I’d say it was on par with assembling a piece of Ikea furniture and super easy to navigate the instructions.
Storkcraft Bunk Bed Quality
I was really impressed with the quality of the wood. Given how affordable this bunkbed is compared to some others on the market, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect. The wood was durable and well painted. We’ve had issues with furniture from some retailers having strong chemical odors and was relieved that this furniture didn’t have any odor at all. All the parts were in great condition and the bed felt extremely sturdy when fully assembled. I really liked that the slats screw in so they don’t move around like the previous Ikea beds we had.

Storkcraft Bunk Bed Review
My girls are so happy with this bunk bed. The ladder is easy for them to climb (even my youngest can climb down it) and the railings on the top bunk are high enough where they feel safe. The white, modern bed style looks gorgeous in their room and I appreciate that it will grow with them, rather than only being a fit for a little kids room and having to phase it out. Myself or my husband can comfortably sleep on the bottom bunk or read stories to them. My only complaint is that having a bunk bed didn’t magically teach my youngest to stay in her bedroom all night 🙂
